| FAWT Greenhouses & Accessories are manufactured by Lowfield Ltd. They are a specialist sheet metal engineering company based in Wiltshire, England. Some 30 years ago they were approached to design and manufacture a sheet metal version of an 8 sided wooden greenhouse. From this beginning the first greenhouse, the Nova (6’4” x 6’4”), was created. Now in its Mark III form and with improvements still being made to meet the consistent high quality standards for which the product is renown, the original Nova seems set to stay. As the Nova grew in popularity, so they listened to their customer’s ideas and requests. Now they have a full range of octagonal greenhouses with a choice of size, shape, and a variety of accessories. Based on a standard ‘Dutch Light’ pane of glass (1422mm x 730mm) the OCTAGONAL range is both eye-catching and practical in its dimensions. The smaller greenhouses in the range provide an attractive, yet functional ‘feature’ in the smaller modern sized garden, whilst for those with more extensive gardens the larger models provide more growing space. |  |

Having established their name for making greenhouses that were ‘a little different’, it seemed only right that when they set out to design a ‘conventional’ rectangular shaped greenhouse, they should maintain the principle. In 1991 this resulted in creation of the SOLAR range. With it’s many original design features, which you can find in the SOLAR section of this site, we believe they have achieved their aim to create a quality product that offers something ‘a little bit different’ whilst still offering engineered quality and practicality. All the greenhouses are offered in a choice of standard powder coat colours (or ‘natural’ unpainted aluminium) with the option of either 3mm horticultural glass or 4mm toughened glass to BS6206a. Because they are made from a sheet of aluminium rather than from an extrusion they are consistently strong throughout the frame. The frame has a ‘design life’ of between 15 – 20 years. Models have been tested up to a wind speed of 120mph and we are aware of several of their greenhouses that are over 25 years old and are still in use today. |
